In this case, we successfully completed the production and quality inspection of a batch of corrosion coupons and coupon holders, custom-built for an international client in the oil and gas sector.
These units are specially designed for insertion-type corrosion monitoring systems used in pipelines, tanks, and pressurized vessels. Featuring excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and field reliability, these corrosion coupons are ideal for long-term use in harsh industrial environments.

The project involved two major components:
Insertion-Type Corrosion Coupons with Threaded Holders
Protective Plug Assemblies with Epoxy Coating
These components work together to provide accurate, real-time assessment of corrosion rates inside process pipelines. The corrosion coupons are inserted directly into the flow medium, where they are exposed to the same conditions as the internal pipe wall — allowing for representative corrosion measurement.
📌 Component 1: Insertion-Type Corrosion Coupons
The first image shows our 316L stainless steel corrosion coupons, each integrated with a threaded holder for secure installation into a monitoring port.
Key Features:
Material: 316L Stainless Steel (customizable: 304, 410, Monel, Inconel, etc.)
Type: Insertion rod style with standard plug thread
Thread Size: NPT 3/4” (available in BSPT, BSPP, etc.)
Seal: Equipped with dual O-rings for leak-proof performance
Surface Finish: Machined to Ra ≤ 0.8μm for accurate exposure
Packaging: Each unit is individually capped and sealed to prevent contamination
These corrosion coupons are manufactured to exacting tolerances and are compatible with retrievable and fixed monitoring systems. All units are serialized for traceability and can be supplied with material certificates (MTC) upon request.
📌 Component 2: Protective Coated Plug Assemblies
The second image features our carbon steel plug assemblies, used to secure and protect the corrosion coupons during operation. These plugs are precision-machined from A105 carbon steel and finished with a durable blue epoxy coating for enhanced corrosion resistance.
